Men's golf falls at NCAA playoff


<p>The Stanford Cardinal completed two playoff holes at three-under par to advance to the eight seed for the match play portion of the 2010 NCAA Championship. The Cardinal had to out-duel San Diego and Arizona State over holes 10, 11, 15, 16, 17 and 18.</p><separator></separator><p>The three teams began on 11-18 with the top four of five scores counting as the team score. Stanford and San Diego played the holes at minus two, while Arizona State played at one-under.</p><separator></separator><p>The players at 18 moved on 10 while the other four just moved up in the rotation. Sihwan Kim gave Stanford the win with the lone birdie of the second playoff hole as he drained a 15-footer on the par five 17th to claim the eighth spot and a date with top seed Oklahoma State in match play.</p><separator></separator><p>Match play will start on time at 9 a.m., as the schedule has been altered. Fourth seed Washington takes on fifth seeded Oregon rather than the original one vs. eight.</p>
