Men's golf closes out fall season in California

The men's golf team will close out the 2010 fall season at The Prestige at PGA WEST in La Quinta, Calif., Oct. 10 through Oct. 12. Played on the 7,300-yard, par-72 TPC Stadium Course, the 18-hole rounds begin at 12:30 a.m. on Sunday and Monday, with the final round teeing off at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Fifteen major universities are participating in this year's event, including Arizona State, California, Central Florida, Long Beach State, Michigan State, Oregon, Pacific, Pepperdine, San Diego, Stanford (co-host), TCU (2008 and 2009 tournament champion), UC Davis (co-host), UNC-Wilmington, Vanderbilt and Washington.

The TPC Stadium Course at PGA West is consistently ranked in the "Top 100 Courses in the World" by Golf Magazine and was listed as the 4th toughest course in America by Golf Digest in 2007. Designed by legend Pete Dye, the course hosts the PGA Tour Qualifying School Finals every other year and is home to the infamous island green on hole No. 17.
