Marrero leads baseball in BYU sweep

The Sun Devils improve to 41-5 on the season with the victory.</p><separator></separator><p>Marrero was 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in the fourth and a two-run triple in the eighth to lead the Sun Devil offensive attack. <a href="">Drew Maggi</a>, <a href="… Ruettiger</a> and <a href="">R… Torrez</a> also had two hits each in the victory.</p><separator></separator><p><a href="">… Kelly</a> started and went three innings, allowing three hits and one unearned run with two strikeouts, but he left on a pitch count and took a no decision. <a href="">Jake Borup</a> came on from the bullpen to earn the win and improve to 10-1 on the season. Borup went the middle three innings, giving up five hits and one unearned run. <a href="… Lambson</a>, <a href="">J… Barrett</a> and <a href="… Swagerty</a> combined to pitch the final three innings, striking out seven and not allowing a hit.</p><separator></separator><p>BYU took the lead in the first with a run scored on a balk by Kelly, but the Sun Devils tied the game in the third on an RBI single by Maggi. ASU then took the lead in the fourth, as <a href="">R… Torrez</a> had a run-scoring single and then Marrero followed him up with a two-run shot to left.</p><separator></separator><p>The Cougars scored a run in the fifth to make it 4-2, but ASU would get the run back in the sixth when <a href="">… Torrez</a> scored on an error. Marrero then capped off the scoring with a triple to the right field corner in the eighth that scored both Ruettiger and <a href="">R… Torrez</a>.</p><separator></separator><p>The Sun Devils return to Pac-10 Conference action on Saturday, as they begin a three-game series with Arizona at Sancet Stadium in Tucson.</p>
