MacPhee named National Hitter of the Week

<p>The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association named sophomore second basemen <a href="">Z… MacPhee</a> the National Hitter of the Week, the NCBWA announced today. The NCBWA Board reviews candidates from each Division I Conference each week and names winners each Tuesday throughout the season. MacPhee was named Pac-10 Player of the Week and a Louisville Slugger National Player of the Week by Collegiate Baseball.</p><separator></separator><p>MacPhee, a Phoenix, Ariz. native, was an offensive machine during the opening weekend for the Sun Devils, helping ASU to a three-game sweep of Northern Illinois. MacPhee went 8-for-11 for a .727 batting average and a 1.818 slugging percentage. For the weekend, he accumulated 20 total bases, thanks in part to his four triples. MacPhee scored seven times and drove in eight runs.
