Leake and Stevens named ASU Athletes of the Week

Both have displayed outstanding athleticism in their respective sports in the past week.</p><separator></separator><p>Thursday night <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/m-basebl/mtt/leake_mike00.html">Mike Leake</a> and the Sun Devils faced off with the Missouri Tigers and Kyle Gibson in a highly anticipated match-up of two of the top pitchers in the nation. Leake outdueled his Team USA teammate, carrying a no-hitter through seven innings before surrendering a hit in the top of the eighth. The Junior shook it off, striking out the side to give him 10 Ks on the night. He improved to 2-0 on the year, thanks to his eight innings of 1 hit, shut out ball. He walked only one man, while fanning 10 Tigers in the 2-1 ASU victory.<a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/c-track/mtt/stevens_sarah00.html"><… href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/c-track/mtt/stevens_sarah00.html">S… Stevens</a> won the MPSF Indoor Championship title in the shot put for the fourth year in a row after capturing the weight throw for the third year in a row, giving her a sweep of the two throwing events at the indoor meet for the third year in a row. This year, the senior won the weight throw on day one with a toss of 21.58m (70-09.75), just one centimeter off from her own national-leading mark, before coming back the next day to win the shot put with a heave of 17.13m (56-02.50).</p>
