Junior Sun Devil Club grows as basketball season ahead


<p> The Junior Sun Devil Club, presented by Shamrock Farms and the official kids club of Sun Devil Athletics, began in December of 2007 and has since grown to over 450 members. The club is looking for new members to come support the Men's and Women's Basketball teams this season. Membership in the Junior Sun Devil Club is only $25, and is open to Sun Devil fans 13 and under, and 8th grade and under. The benefits of membership include a personalized membership card, gold Junior Sun Devil Club t-shirt, free admission into ALL Olympic sports (Olympic sports include: volleyball, soccer, gymnastics, wrestling, women's basketball, baseball and softball), six men's basketball games and invitations to special club events.</p><separator></separator><p>Highlights from the past include the &quot;Take Over the Park&quot; games at Sun Devil Baseball and Softball and Daddy/Daughter Night at volleyball.</p><separator></separator><p>Take Over the Park<br />*Members of the Junior Sun Devil Club assisted in all of the game day operations of the baseball and softball stadium for an entire game, beginning with a tour of the facility, their office for the day. They were given a behind-the-scenes look at the batting cages, coach's offices and the club house, before proceeding to their game day jobs ranging from entrance greeters to team shop assistants, Kids Zone assistants, PA announcers and one of the most exciting jobs, Sparky's assistant! After the game, the entire Junior Sun Devil Club was invited onto the field to run the bases with members of the team.</p><separator></separator><p>Daddy/Daughter Night<br />*Junior Sun Devil Club dads and daughters were recently invited to participate in a halftime scrimmage during the ASU vs. UCLA volleyball match on October 18th. The dads were relentless and pulled away with a narrow 2 point victory.</p><separator></separator><p>Basketball season is just days away, and the Junior Sun Devil Club is ready for all of the hoops action! Men's and Women's Basketball tip-off in a double-header this Friday, November 14th, beginning with the women hosting Cleveland State in the first round of the Preseason WNIT at 6 PM, followed by the men against 2008 NCAA Tournament participant Mississippi Valley State at 8:00pm. Both games will be in Wells Fargo Arena. Friday night's men's basketball home opener is the first of six games that Junior Sun Devil Club members will receive free admission into. At the December 4th game, also a Junior Sun Devil Club game, all youth in attendance are invited to arrive early, play on the inflatables at Sparky's Fun Zone and make posters to cheer on the Sun Devil Men's Basketball team as they host Jackson State at 7:00 p.m. On December 23rd the Junior Sun Devil Club will be invited to shoot hoops on Ned Wulk court after the Sun Devils take on Idaho State at noon. <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/m-baskbl/spec-rel/%3Chttp://thesund… here</a> to see a complete list of the six Men's Basketball games included in the 2008-09 Junior Sun Devil Club membership. <!-- STORY AD BEGINS HERE --></p><separator></separator><p>The Women's Basketball Hoop Devils Kids Club is now part of the Junior Sun Devil Club. The two clubs combined this summer to offer all members a wider variety of benefits. The Sun Devil Women's Basketball team has reserved a special seating section at their games for the Junior Sun Devils and Hoop Devils to cheer their Sun Devils onto victory.
