Johnson invited to Kraft Nabisco Championship


<p>Arizona State University freshman standout golfer <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-golf/mtt/johnson_jennifer00.html"… Johnson</a> has been invited as an amateur exemption to the 2010 Kraft Nabisco Championship, which is the LPGA's first major tournament of the year. Held just miles away from Johnson's hometown, this will be the second time she has competed in the prestigious LPGA event as she also competed in the event last year. In October, Johnson accepted a sponsor exemption for the Navistar LPGA Classic in Prattville, Ala.</p><separator></separator><p>The Kraft Nabisco Championship is held at the Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, Calif. ASU's newest member of the LPGA, <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-golf/mtt/munoz_azahara00.html">Az… Munoz</a>, also accepted an invitation to the Kraft Nabisco Championship last season. Former Sun Devil star Grace Park won the major in 2004.</p><separator></separator><p>Johnson is currently ranked seventh in the Golf Stat Cup. She has earned a top 10 finish in each collegiate tournament she has participated in this season. The La Quinta, Calif., native had a whirlwind of a summer, capped by a runner-up finish at the U.S. Women's Amateur. She additionally was a quarter-finalist at the Girls Junior Championship and a member of the victorious U.S. Junior Solheim team. This past fall, she was selected as one of two amateurs to represent the United States in the Spirit International.</p><separator></separator><!-- STORY AD BEGINS HERE --></p>
