Human Resources offers new support group for working parents

The Office of Human Resources’ Employee Assistance Office is sponsoring a new peer-led support group for faculty and staff who have children ages 6-12. The kickoff meeting is from noon-1 p.m., Sept. 20, in the Memorial Union, room 229, on the Tempe campus.

This new support group is the second group started under the Working Parents Network umbrella. The network was born last year when Jennifer Kampp, assistant to the vice president in the ASU Office of Public Affairs, returned to work after having her first child. Feeling overwhelmed by her new responsibilities as a working mom, she searched for a support group among her peers. Because she could not find an already established group, Kampp worked with the Employee Assistance Office to create ASU's Working Parents Network for parents of children five and under to share resources, tips and parenting strategies.

Both groups, Working Parents Network 0-5 and Working Parents Network 6-12, are free and open to all ASU faculty and staff.
