Hein set to compete in NCAA Tennis Singles Championship

Micaela Hein of the Arizona State women's tennis team is set to compete at the NCAA Single Championship in Athens, Ga. The tournament begins on May 26th and will conclude May 31st. Hein will open competition against Anastasia Petukhova (9-16) of Fresno State tomorrow at 3 p.m. ET. Hein is ranked 50th in the latest ITA Singles Rankings while Petukhova is 14th.

Hein had a successful junior campaign in which she primarily played No. 1 singles for the Sun Devils. With a 21-14 overall record, she earned several wins against top 100 players over the course of the season including over No. 6 Yasmin Schnack of UCLA, No. 34 Mallory Burdette of Stanford, No. 38 McCall Jones of BYU, No. 58 Elisabeth Fournier of Washington State, and No. 98 Natasha Marks of Arizona. For her efforts, she was named to the Pac-10 Second Team. Hein earned All-America honors last season in doubles with partner Kelcy McKenna.
