Haro's banner night leads softball over FGCU
A spectacular night from Talor Haro who went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBIs with her first career home run paved the way for the No. 7 Sun Devil Softball team to take a 7-0 win over Florida Gulf Coast Wednesday night. Hillary Bach took the win to go 4-0 on the year with the Sun Devils moving to 19-1 on the year.
An RBI single from Castillo in the first got the ball rolling for ASU, though FGCU rallied back after the run in the second to shut down the Sun Devils through the next two innings as it turned into a pitchers battle with Hillary Bach cruising through four scoreless innings to keep the Sun Devils afloat 1-0.
With Dallas Escobedo coming in to close out in the circle as the Sun Devils showed their O face finally in the fifth inning as the offense came to life in the fifth inning as they added three more to their cushion with RBIs from Katelyn Boyd and Lesley Rogers to rock the score to 4-0 after four complete.
The hit parade continued in the sixth inning as home runs from Kaylyn Castillo and Talor Haro rocked a couple longballs over the wall to make it a nice 7-0 lead for ASU which Escobedo had no issue closing out to pick up ASU’s 19th win on the season.
The Sun Devils return to action again tomorrow as they open up the Diamond Devil Invitational against Cambell at 5:30 and Florida Gulf Coast at 7 p.m. in Tempe at Farrington Stadium.
