Glasser and Murcia named Athletes of the Week

Men's basketball player <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/m-baskbl/mtt/glasser_derek00.html">… Glasser</a> and women's golfer <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-golf/mtt/murcia_juliana00.html">J… Murcia</a> have been named ASU's Athletes of the Week for the week ending February 21, 2009. Both gave outstanding performances over the weekend and helped lead their respective teams to victory.<separator></separator>Murcia won her first tournament title last week at the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge. Battling through rain, freezing temperatures and 40 mph winds, the junior shot 1-over 214 (70-71-73) to help lead the Sun Devils to their third team title of the season. Her round one score of 70 was a career-low for Murcia, who started the tournament as the team's No. 4 player. Murcia beat out teammate <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-golf/mtt/ciganda_carlota00.html">… Ciganda</a> for first by eight shots and helped the Sun Devils win by 18 strokes.<separator></separator>Glasser averaged 16.5 points and 5.0 assists in the sweep over the Los Angeles schools. He tied for team-high honors with 15 against UCLA, then posted a team and career-high 18 points vs. USC as ASU earned its 20th win.
