Gerald Munns named Pac-10 Defensive Player of the Week
Arizona State University junior linebacker Gerald Munns has been named the Pacific-10 Conference Defensive Player of the Week.
Munns led the ASU defense in limiting Stanford to 233 yards of total offense in the Sun Devils' 41-17 victory on Saturday. He intercepted a pass on the Cardinal's opening possession of the second half, which was the first of three turnovers ASU forced in the win, and it led to a touchdown that put the Sun Devils ahead 27-10. He also deflected a pass in the fourth quarter that was intercepted by safety Troy Nolan.
Munns accomplished this with cast on his hand for a broken finger.
California running back Jahvid Best and Arizona kick returner Keola Antolin joined Munns as the U.S. Bank Pac-10 Football Players of the Week.
