Future housing pro shoots for STARS


<p>ASU sophomore Matt O’Brien has been selected to participate in STARS College, sponsored by the Association of College and University Housing Officers International. The program, in its fifth year, targets undergraduates who have shown interest in the housing profession and guides them toward opportunities in the world of college housing and dining services. It will be held July 5-7 in Seattle, as part of the association’s annual conference.</p><separator></separator><p>O’Brien, a resident assistant (RA) in Palo Verde West Hall, has had an interest in Residential Life since his first position as a summer conference assistant nearly two years ago. He has held a series of positions within Residential Life as a student worker with Organizational Development, an RA in Mariposa Hall and a summer conference assistant.</p><separator></separator><p>O’Brien was recommended for the program by his community coordinator, Scott Schuhert, and by Kendra Hunter, the director of residential education. This fall, O’Brien will serve as a community assistant in Hassayampa Hall.</p>
