Four ASU divers to compete at World Championships in Rome

Four members of the Arizona State diving teams are competing at the FINA World Championships in Rome, Italy, this week. Current divers Constatin Blaha and Elina Eggers, recent alum Micky Benedetti and incoming freshman Riley McCormick are set to take on the world. With four Sun Devils diving, the ASU diving team has more representatives at the prestigious event than any other school in the country.

Elina Eggers is currently ranked third in the world on the platform. The Swede had to sit out last season and prior to coming to ASU, placed 12th on platform at the Olympic Games. McCormick, an incoming freshman from Canada, is also ranked in the top five on platform. McCormick will enter the competition ranked fifth.

Blaha and Benedetti will both participate in the three-meter competition. Blaha, who like Eggers sat out last season, is ranked 14th in the world while recent diving alum Benedetti is 29th.
