Former Sun Devil Ike Davis named to USA Baseball World Cup team


<p> Former Sun Devil baseball star <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/m-basebl/mtt/davis_ike00.html">Ike Davis</a> will suit up for the Red, White and Blue in the 2009 IBAF World Cup September 9-27. Davis is a part of the 24-mean Team USA that will travel to Europe for the international tournament.</p><separator></separator><p>Davis was a standout for Arizona State from 2006 to 2008, earning First Team All Pac-10 honors each of his three seasons. He was the 2006 Pac-10 Freshman of the Year and was a two-time All-American, including a unanimous selection in 2008. He hit .353 in his three seasons with the Sun Devils, driving in 202 runs and slugging 33 homers. His 202 RBI are the seventh most in school history, and his 69 career doubles is fifth most ever at ASU.</p><separator></separator><p>Davis was a first round selection of the New York Mets in the 2008 MLB Draft and hit .297 with St. Lucie (A) and Binghamton (AA) this season in minor league ball.
