Football's Aaron earns honors for performance against Stanford

Junior linebacker Oliver Aaron earned College Football Performance Awards Football Bowl Subdivision Honorable Mention Linebacker Performer of the Week for week 11 following ASU's 17-13 loss to Stanford.

Aaron, who finished with five tackles, including four solo, sacked Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck for an 11-yard loss to force a fumble in the second quarter. He also added a pair of tackles-for-loss.

The purpose of the College Football Performance Awards is to provide the most scientifically rigorous distinction in college football. Recipients are selected based exclusively on objective scientific rankings and place emphasis on the extent to which individual players increase the overall effectiveness of their teams. The CFPA is also the sole group to honor national freshman performer of the year, kickoff returner, punt returner and kickoff specialist.
