Five Sun Devils earn mid-season All-Pac-10 honors from Phil Steele


Five Arizona State University football student-athletes have been named to Phil Steele's 2008 Mid-Season All-Pac-10 Team. Defensive end Dexter Davis and linebacker Mike Nixon each received First Team honors, wide receiver Michael Jones made the Second Team and offensive linemen Paul Fanaika and kicker/punter Thomas Weber are on the Third Team.

Davis leads the Sun Devils with 5.0 sacks and 7.0 tackles for loss, and he also has 17 tackles, a forced fumble and a pass break-up on the season.

Nixon has a team-leading 48 tackles on the season. He also has two interceptions, one in each of ASU's last two games, three pass break-ups and one sack.

Jones leads the Sun Devils with both 30 receptions and 427 yards, Fanaika has started all six games at right guard and Weber has eight field goals and is averaging 41.9 yards per punt on the season.
