Eric Allen named to San Diego's Breitbard Hall Of Fame
Former Arizona State University football player Eric Allen has been named to the Breitbard Hall of Fame, the San Diego Hall of Champions announced today. Allen will be inducted on Feb. 18 at the 63rd annual Viejas Salute to the Champions dinner at the Town and Country Hotel in San Diego.
Allen, who graduated from San Diego's Point Loma High School, played at ASU from 1983-87. He was a part of three bowl teams, including the 1986 team that defeated Michigan in the Rose Bowl. He finished his Sun Devil career with 15 interceptions, and he went on to play in the NFL for 14 seasons and was a six-time Pro Bowl selection. Allen will also be inducted into the ASU Athletics Hall of Fame this year.
Allen will be inducted alongside former NFL running back Marshall Faulk, former MLB player Floyd Robinson and San Diego off-road racing icon Ivan Stewart. Allen and Faulk were elected by a vote of the San Diego media and the San Diego Hall of Champions Board of Directors, while the Hall of Champions' Veterans Committee selected Robinson and Stewart.
