Dennis Erickson named semifinalist for 19th Annual George Munger Coach of the Year Award


<p>TEMPE, Ariz. - Arizona State University first-year head football coach <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/erickson_dennis00.html… Erickson</a> has been named a semifinalist for the 19th annual George Munger Award, presented annually to the nation&#39;s top college coach.</p><separator></separator><p>Erickson has led the Sun Devils to an 8-1 record so far during his first season in Tempe, getting ASU bowl eligible for the fourth straight season. Erickson holds a career record of 156-66-1 and has twice been named the Pacific-10 Conference Coach of the Year. The Sun Devils earned their highest BCS Standings rating this year at No. 4.</p><separator></separator><p>The Maxwell Football Club will announce the winner of the 19th George Munger Award via a press release in December. The formal presentation of the award will be made at the Maxwell Football Club&#39;s Awards Dinner, to be held on Friday March 7, 2008 at the Harrah&#39;s Entertainment Complex in Atlantic City, New Jersey.</p>
