Day one of Pac-10 women's swimming; as diving meets conclude


<p> The Arizona State women's swimming and diving team finished day one of competition in the Pac-10 Championships held at the King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way, Wash. The men's diving team also competed with two Sun Devils making the finals.<a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/c-swim/mtt/benedetti_micky01.html">… href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/c-swim/mtt/benedetti_micky01.html">… Benedetti</a>, the reigning Pac-10 1-meter champion, put up a score of 371.50 in the final of the 1-meter and finished short of his attempt at a repeat of defending his title. Benedetti placed third behind Stanford's Dwight Dumais and Harrison Jones of USC. Redshirt freshman <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/c-swim/mtt/bradshaw_cameron00.html"… Bradshaw</a> placed in the top eight with a sixth place finish. He scored 324.15 points.</p><separator></separator><p>In women's swimming, the 800 free relay team of <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/c-swim/mtt/yamauchi_penelope00.html… Yamauchi</a>, <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/c-swim/mtt/caldwell_samantha00.html… Caldwell</a>, <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/c-swim/mtt/martinez_jamie00.html">J… Martinez</a> and <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/c-swim/mtt/mauro_christine00.html">… Mauro</a> compiled to earn a time of 7:25.29 and place eighth.
