Ciganda finishes in Top-10, Molinaro consistent at Mason Rudolph
Arizona State junior Carlota Ciganda, competing as an individual, finished in a tie for ninth at the 2010 Mason Rudolph Women’s Challenge, held at the par-72, 6,281-yard Vanderbilt Legends North Course.
Ciganda shot a 70 in the final round to earn her first top-10 finish of the year on Sunday, finishing the tournament shooting a 5-under 211 (74-67-70).
Junior Giulia Molinaro, also competing as an individual for the Sun Devils, played consistently through out the tournament, shooting a three-round total 10-over 226 (75-75-76) to tie for 67th.
The Mason Rudolph Women’s Challenge concludes the fall collegiate play for both Ciganda and Molinaro. Both golfers will travel to Buenos Aires, Argentina to compete in the 2010 World Amateur.
Ciganda will represent her home country of Spain for the second-consecutive World Amateur. In 2008, Ciganda and ASU golf alumna Azahara Munoz helped Spain to a second-place finish in Australia.
Molinaro will also compete in her second World Amateur, representing her home country of Italy. Lead by Molinaro, Italy finished in a tie for 30th with Mexico.
