Carlota Ciganda named Golfweek Player of the Week

After taking home her first individual title at the Pac-10 Women's Golf Championships, Arizona State freshman Carlota Ciganda has been named Golfweek's Player of the Week.

Ciganda made par on hole 18 to win a playoff against teammate Jennifer Osborn and USC freshman Jennifer Song. At 3-under 210 (70-71-69), she helped lead the Sun Devils to their eighth Pac-10 team title and became the ninth Sun Devil to be named Pac-10 Conference Medalist. For her steady play through the spring semester, Ciganda also received First-Team Pac-10 honors.

Juliana Murcia and former Sun Devil Anna Nordqvist have also been named Golfer of the Week this past season.

The Sun Devils will host the NCAA West Region May 7-9.
