Brycki named Pac-10 Player of the Week

ASU sophomore Michelle Brycki has been named the Pac-10 Women's Tennis Player of the Week for April 12-18, Commissioner Larry Scott announced today.

Brycki of Sydney, Australia led the Sun Devils to a 5-2 win over in-state rival Arizona to finish the season with a perfect 14-0 dual match record. She became the first significant starter in head coach Sheila McInerney's 26 years to end the regular season with a flawless dual match singles record. The sophomore achieved this feat when she defeated Arizona's Debora Castany in straight sets 6-2, 6-2. Teaming with Hannah James, the pair beat the Wildcats' duo of Sarah Landsman/Jane Huh, 8-2 at the No. 3 doubles position.

This is the first-career weekly honor for Brycki and the ninth all-time Pac-10 Player of the Week selection for the Arizona State women.
