Blaha named Pac-10 Diver of the Month


<p>Sophomore <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/c-swim/mtt/blaha_constantin00.html"… Blaha</a> (Vienna, Austria) has been named Pac-10 Diver of the Month as announced today by Commissioner Larry Scott. Blaha is the third ASU diver and second male diver to earn accolades this year as <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/c-swim/mtt/eggers_elina00.html">Eli… Eggers</a> and <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/c-swim/mtt/bradshaw_cameron00.html"… Bradshaw</a> won for the month of December. This is ASU's conference-leading 11th Pac-10 Diver of the Month honor.</p><separator></separator><p>In his first conference championships, Blaha showcased his ability after nearly medaling in each event. He reached the top of the podium the first day as he took home a gold medal in the 3-meter. The 2008 Olympian scored 435.55 points to win by nearly 45 points. Blaha continued the momentum the second day as he finished runner-up on the 1-meter with 404.7 points. On the 10-meter platform, an event he did not train until coming to ASU last year, Blaha almost reached the podium again, finishing fourth with 387.2 points. For his outstanding performance, he was named Pac-10 Diver of the Meet.</p><separator></separator><p>In addition, Blaha won the 1-meter against Arizona and placed third on the 3-meter in the Sun Devils' final dual meet of the season. Blaha and his diving teammates head to the Zone E Championships this weekend.</p><separator></separator><!-- STORY AD BEGINS HERE --></p>
