Baseball to hold alumni celebration on Saturday

TEMPE, Ariz. - The annual Arizona State baseball Alumni game will feature a different look in 2008, due to the new NCAA Change Of Season Plan rules. The festivities will kick off at 11:30 a.m. on February 16 when the gates to Winkles Field-Packard Stadium at Brock Ballpark will open. An autograph session with the 2008 Sun Devils will then take place from noon until 1 p.m. along the left field concourse.

At 1:15 p.m., the ASU Alumni will be introduced and then face each other in a four-inning contest. Following the Alumni game, the 2008 Sun Devils will scrimmage for approximately 6 innings.

NCAA bylaws state that teams can not play any type of games, including exhibitions, before the official start of the season. The Devils open the 2008 season on February 22, when they host the Miami, Ohio RedHawks in the DeMarini Invitational.
