Baseball Alumni weekend a huge success


Arizona State Baseball's Alumni Weekend was a huge success, boasting one of the biggest turnouts ever for the three events.

The weekend kicked off on Wednesday night with the Preseason Banquet. Several former players were in attendance, highlighted by current Ike Davis, Andrew Romine, Jason Kipnis and Eric Sogard.

Friday was the annual golf tournament at ASU's Karsten Golf Course. The former pitcher foursome of Jordan Swagerty, Mike Leake, Jake Borup and Jeff Urlaub turned in the top score and took home the victory.

The weekend wrapped up on Saturday with the annual Alumni Game pitting the 2011 Sun Devils versus a team of Alumni. Former Devils in attendance included Golden Spikes Winner Mike Kelly, Hubie Brooks, Ken Landreaux, Todd Steverson, Jacob Cruz and Los Angeles Dodgers All-Star Outfielder Andre Ethier.

The 2011 Sun Devils open up their season on Friday night when they host New Mexico at 6:30 p.m. from Winkles Field-Packard Stadium at Brock Ballpark.
