Barrett students recognized at ASU football game

National Merit Scholars, National Achievement Scholars, National Hispanic Scholars and Gates Millennium Scholars were recognized at the ASU football game on Sept. 28. Many of these scholars are students in Barrett, the Honors College at ASU.

The National Merit Scholars represent the top one half of 1 percent of the 1.3 million high school students in the nation who take the PSAT exam each year. The National Achievement Scholars represent the top 1 percent of outstanding African-American high school students taking the same exam and the National Hispanic Scholars represent the top 2 percent of outstanding Hispanic-American students taking the PSAT. The Gates Millennium Scholars are individuals with great academic promise, unmet financial need and leadership abilities exhibited through community service and other extracurricular activities in their high school years.
