ASU women's basketball ranked well by AP poll

The Arizona State women's basketball team is ranked No. 17 in the Associated Press preseason poll, which was released on Saturday.

The 2008-09 Sun Devils return 11 players, including three starters - senior guard Briann January and senior posts Sybil Dosty and Lauren Lacey - and several other significant contributors from last year's team which advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the fourth consecutive season.

The 2008-09 Sun Devils will make their debut this Wednesday when they host the Houston Jaguars in an exhibition contest at 6:30 p.m. in Wells Fargo Arena. ASU officially opens its regular season on Friday, November 14 when it hosts Cleveland State in the first round of the 2008 Preseason WNIT.
