ASU Wellness presents panel on prescription drug abuse

ASU Wellness and the National Coalition Against Prescription Drug Abuse will offer two panel discussion events Nov. 9 to address prescription drug misuse and abuse among college students for ASU students, staff, faculty and parents.

The events will feature real-life stories of friends and family of ASU student Joey Rovero, who passed away from prescription drug overdose last December. In addition, a panel of counseling and health experts will present information to increase awareness about this growing problem, and offer resources to prevent future tragedies and loss.

Both panel events will take place on the Tempe campus. The discussion for faculty, staff and parents will take place from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m., in the Physical Sciences A building, room 113. The discussion for students will take place from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., in the Schwada building, room 150.

To RSVP to this event, send an e-mail to wellness@asu.edu by 5 p.m., Nov. 8. For more information, contact Lindsay Romasanta.
