ASU finishes strong at Olympia Fields

The ASU Men's golf team continued their solid play from the second round and finished in 6th place with a 32-over par 872 (296-287-289) at the Olympia Fields/U of Illinois Collegiate Invitational. Sophomore Scott Pinckney rode a career best second round to a seventh place tie and a 3-over 213 (73-67-73). Host University of Illinois had the best final round team score and took the tournament title with a 12-over 852 (288-285-279). In the individual standing Zach Barlow of Illinois and Alex Martin of Indiana tied for the title with 1-under 209's.

Following Pinckney for the Sun Devils were sophomores Jesper Kennegard (74-76-70) and Stephan Gross (77-70-73) who tied for 27th with a 10-over par 220's. Freshman Chan Kim tied for 35th with a 13-over 223 (78-74-73) and sophomore Jed Dirksen tied for 39th with a 14-over 224 (73-78-73).

The Sun Devils will close out their fall season this coming weekend as they travel to the Ping Preview in Toledo, Ohio. This event showcases the golf course that will be used for this season's NCAA Championship.
