ASU continues to impress during the second round in Hawaii
The Arizona State men's golf team is in second place after the second round of the Hawaii Hilo Intercollegiate as it shot a 8-under 272 for a two day total of 543. Leading the tournament is defending NCAA champion Stanford (275-263), while Pac-10 schools USC (274-270), Washington (280-270) and Oregon State (273-278) all are in the running.
Leading the Sun Devils and the tournament is freshman Jesper Kennegard who is tied for first with a 9-under 131 (68-63). Newcomer Stephen Gross is tied for third with an 8-under 132 (64-68) along with fellow rookie Braxton Marquez who is tied for 31st with an even par 140 (68-72). Sophomore Knut Borsheim is tied for 43rd with a 1-over 141 (71-70). Senior Phil Telliard rounds out the Sun Devils tied for 51st with a 2-over 142 (71-71).
USC's Jamie Lovemark shares the lead with Jesper Kennegard after the second round. Georgia Tech, ranked fourth by Golfweek, remains tied for fifth.
