Alumni Association brings home 9 graphic design awards

The ASU Alumni Association recently received nine 2010 American Inhouse Design Awards from Graphic Design USA. The awards recognize organizations and individuals who have demonstrated outstanding work in the field of graphic design across all types of media, including print, collateral, advertising, sales, promotions, logos, Internet and packaging.

The association received seven design awards for issues of ASU Magazine that it produced last year, including a December 2009 feature story on the opening of a new campus for Barrett, the Honors College at ASU; a March 2009 cover and feature story related to the ASU Challenges project; a May 2009 cover and feature story showcasing outstanding young graduates of ASU, and as well as a feature story about the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication.

The Alumni Association also received awards for the design of its Senior Year Experience campaign materials as well as for the October 2009 issue of Alumni Advantages, the organization’s quarterly membership newsletter.

All Alumni Association materials were designed by a graphic design team that includes Robert Cao-Ba, art director; Karen Windsor-Worrel, senior graphic designer; and graphic design assistant Alyssa Yatabe.

The 2010 American Inhouse Design Awards boasted more than 4,000 entries. This is the fourth year in a row that the ASU Alumni Association received an award from the organization.
