Alister Mackenzie invitational up next for men's golf
The Arizona State men's golf team continues its fall season at the sixth annual Alister McKenzie Invitational hosted by California at the par-71, 6,686-yard Meadow Club in Fairfax, Calif., Monday, Oct. 8, through Tuesday, Oct. 9. The 54-hole tournament will feature 36 holes to be played on Monday beginning at 7:20 a.m. PT, followed by the final 18 holes on Tuesday starting at 8 a.m. PT. Live scoring for the event will be available at Golfstat.com.
The ASU lineup for the Alister McKenzie Invitational will include freshman Jesper Kennegard, sophomore Knut Borsheim, freshman James Byrne, senior Phil Telliard and junior Steele DeWald who was the top finisher for the Sun Devils last week in Chicago.
Joining ASU in the 16-team field will be Cal Poly, California, UC Davis, UC Irvine, Fresno State, Louisville, Oregon, Oregon State, St. Mary's, San Diego State, San Francisco, San Jose State, Santa Clara, Washington and Washington State.
The Meadow Club will also serve as the site of the 2008 Pac-10 Men's Golf Championship, which California will host. The Golden Bears have won the Alister McKenzie Invitational the last two years and three times overall.
Following this event, the Sun Devils will travel to the Isleworth Invitational in Orlando, Fla. to conclude the fall season.
