Find your team, go out and pursue the world's next big idea

Luminosity Director Mark Naufel speaks with students at computers

Luminosity at Arizona State University is where interdisciplinary teams of students with bright ideas dream big. It’s where they launch moonshot ideas with the aim of positively impacting society. And it’s where they design, build and deploy innovations that change the world.

Mark Naufel, Luminosity’s director, talks about what it takes to make this happen. Naufel teaches students that there’s no playbook for coming up with the world’s next big idea. So don’t wait for one, he says. Instead, he urges students to use their collective knowledge to find ways to better society.

Naufel's talk is part of the ASU KEDtalks series. Short for Knowledge Enterprise Development talks, KEDtalks aim to spark ideas, indulge curiosity and inspire action by highlighting ASU scientists, humanists, social scientists and artists who are driven to find solutions to the universe’s grandest challenges.
