By day Katie Tucker is a hard-working, honors student pursuing a degree in nursing but during her free time, she’s pursuing a passion in photography.

Recently that passion was recognized by Barrett, The Honors College.

Every few weeks the college displays student artwork in either the Burning B cafe or the student center at Vista del Sol.

Tucker, who is a sophomore and a student worker at CONHI said she submitted a series of portraits for consideration and learned her photos had been chosen for display in March.

“Photography is a huge passion of mine and any opportunity to have my work exhibited means the world to me,” Tucker said.

The six images, some in color, some in black and white, capture people in various environments. They spent a few weeks up in the Student Center, something Tucker called an honor.

“I feel so grateful to have this opportunity!”
