SILC professor chosen as president-elect of prestigious organization


Professor Danko Sipka has been chosen as the president-elect for the prestigious National Federation of Modern Language Teachers Association.

The board of directors unanimously chose the professor from the School of International Letters and Cultures to the position, with a term limit of up to two years.

The NFMLTA is best known for the Modern Language Journal and its overall efforts for the “expansion, promotion, and improvement of teacher languages, literatures, and cultures throughout the United States.”

At SILC, Sipka teaches Slavic languages and applied linguistics. He has worked at multiple national universities and served as a consultant for well-known businesses.
