Maria Teresa Miró
Maria Teresa Miró is an Master of Fine Arts in intermedia candidate in the Arizona State University School of Art. She created "The Bus Project," a study that focuses on the social impact of the public bus system in the Phoenix Metropolitan area, which she feels is an area with a strong car culture.
Her idea was born out of the frustration she felt while trying to move through the Phoenix southeast valley without a car using a system she believes is rampant with dysfunction and idiosyncrasies that seem endemic to most urban areas in the American Southwest.
With a fanzine structure, this ongoing project attempts to give a face to the urban landscape through dialogue and portraits of the people who move through it. "The Bus Project"is distributed throughout Phoenix for free.
