Gabriel Sears

Gabriel Sears earned his Bachelor of Music in music education from the Arizona State University School of Music in December 2010. Sears, a tuba student of Sam Pilafian and Pat Sheridan, and has been named a Fulbright Scholar for the 2011–2012 academic year.

In September 2011, he travels to Hannover, Germany to study tuba at the Hochschule fur Musik, Theater, und Medien Hannover (Hannover University of Music, Theater, and Media). While there, Sears will study with Professor Jens Bjørn-Larsen, world famous tuba soloist and educator. In addition to studying the tuba, Sears plans to visit all of the tuba factories in Germany to do extensive research on how tubas are made and how to improve on the current designs of tubas.
