Emily Botts

Emily Botts, who will begin her master's degree in vocal performance at the Arizona State University School of Music this fall, was chosen to perform two influential singing roles this summer.

Botts sang the role of Frasquita in "“Carmen"” with Opera Las Vegas at the beginning of June. She will also be performing as Juliet in Tchaikovsky’'s “"Romeo and Juliet”" with Russian Opera Workshop in Philadelphia at the end of June.

“"Frasquita was my professional debut at Opera Las Vegas, and I had the opportunity to perform with singers and a conductor from the Metropolitan Opera,”" Botts says. "“Juliet is also an exciting experience because it is my first time singing in Russian.”"

Botts is grateful for both of these opportunities this summer, "“The more experience I can get performing will help me continue to grow as a performer and singer and will help me with future performances and future roles. I am also very excited to attend ASU this fall to continue my master’s degree in vocal performance.”"

Botts will be a student of Stephanie Weiss, assistant professor of voice, starting in the fall.
