“The Oxford Handbook of Music Making and Leisure,” edited by Roger Mantie, an associate professor in the School of Music, was published by Oxford University Press in January. Gareth Dylan Smith is also an editor of the book.

The book is the first volume of its kind devoted to examinations of music making and leisure, according to the Oxford University Press website. It “gives analysis from scholars in myriad disciplines including sociology, music education, psychology and organizational behavior and highlights recurring themes in music making.”
