Ellen Murray Meissinger

Ellen Murray's work is displayed in Deluge, a multi-media art installation in the historic Santa Croce Church of Florence, Italy.  The installation commemorates the 40th anniversary of the 1966 Florence flood when the Arno River invaded the city and severely damaged many of its art treasures.

The interdependence of water and cities is an important concern in Murray's artwork. For the past year, she has researched the Florence flood and the Arno River's relationship to the city. Murray's work is displayed Nov. 1 - Dec. 10, 2006.
