Roger Mantie
Roger Mantie, assistant professor of music education in the School of Music, recently published a study in the Bulletin of the Council for Research in Music Education entitled, "Music Participation and Nonparticipation of Nonmajors on College Campuses."
Together with Jay Dorfman, a former colleague at Boston University, Mantie used a unique crowdsourcing method to gather data on the recreational music interests of students on 28 college campuses across the United States. The study provides analyses on a number of variables, helping to advance understanding of music learning, teaching and participation.
