ASU agribusiness chair named editor of national agricultural economics journal
Tim Richards, who holds the Marvin and June Morrison Chair in Agribusiness in the Morrison School of Agribusiness at Arizona State University's W. P. Carey School of Business, has been named editor for the American Journal of Agricultural Economics (AJAE). The AJAE is the flagship journal of the Agricultural and Applied Economics Association and is considered the top journal in the agricultural and applied economics field.
Richards grew up on a farm in western Canada, and earned his undergraduate degree in business at the University of British Columbia and doctorate at Stanford University. Richards joined ASU in 1994. His primary research interest is in the area of applied econometrics with respect to food markets and food policy issues.
His research encompasses both experimental and non-experimental methods of data analysis, publishing research in outlets such as the Journal of Retailing, Management Science, the American Journal of Agricultural Economics and many others. He has won 11 outstanding journal article awards and serves on the editorial board of the European Review of Agricultural Economics, Journal of Agricultural and Resource Economics, and Agribusiness.
