On Oct. 20, The McCain Institute for International Leadership, Arizona State University’s Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law, and New America hosted a one-day conference on international rule of law and counterterrorism.

The event featured scholars, practitioners, and former senior government officials who explored whether U.S. counterterrorism policies and activities are consistent with the rule of law, how other countries are affected by these policies and efforts, and their impact on the United States’ ability to help strengthen legal systems around the world. Throughout the day, speakers and panelists discussed recommendations for counterterrorism policies for the next administration.
