Sing-along for musical theater fans premieres in the Valley

TEMPE, Ariz. – Do you love the great hits of Broadway? Wish you could sing along at the local musical theater production without those sitting nearby glaring at you? ASU’s Herberger College has just the event for you!

Sing Broadway, a sing-along of favorites from the Great White Way, is coming to the Valley of the Sun, Oct. 25 and 26.

“New York, New York,” “All the Jazz,” “Life is a Cabaret,” “How Lucky Can You Get?” and “My Coloring Book” are just some of the well-known songs that talented singers and musicians from the Herberger College School of Music, led by singer, actor and choreographer Jo Ann Yeoman, will perform.

Sponsored by Herberger College Community Programs and ASU Library Special Collections, Sing Broadway will feature the music of the great songwriting team of John Kander and Fred Ebb, creators of Chicago, Cabaret and Zorba. In addition to joining in with the Herberger College performers, participants in Sing Broadway will be treated to informative commentary and can view pertinent theater memorabilia from the ASU archives. A dessert reception will follow the program.

Sing Broadway will premiere at 7 p.m., Oct. 25, at StudioBel4 in Paradise Valley. A second sing-along performance is scheduled for 2 p.m., Oct. 26, at the West Valley Art Museum in Surprise. Tickets for each event are $25. For directions, additional information and reservations, members of the public should call (480) 727-6762 or visit the events section of http://herbergercollege.asu.edu.
