Piano Prep offers classes in adult piano and children’s choir


Tempe, AZ. – The Piano Prep program in the Herberger College of Fine Arts School of Music will offer two sets of classes to the public during Spring Semester 2003.

The Adult Beginning Group Piano class is designed for adults with little to no piano background and will teach music and piano fundamentals. It will meet on Tuesdays from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. for 14 weeks, beginning Jan. 21. Registration is $140, $50 of which is due at the time of registration and nonrefundable. Applications may be picked up at the School of Music Building outside rooms W255, 256 and 259. Please contact the Prep Program Office at 480-965-1702 for more information.

‘The Children’s Choir classes is open to students ages 6-12. The 10-week session begins Jan. 25. Students enrolled in the choir will develop ear-training, listening, and sight-reading skills, in addition to enhancing their musicianship through singing. The repertoire for the fall session will incorporate a variety of musical styles, including classical and folk songs from around the world, and will be presented in performance at the end of the session. The choir will meet every Saturday beginning Jan. 25, from 1 to 2 p.m. in room W 220 of the School of Music Building. Registration on the first
day of class will begin at 12:30 p.m. Tuition for the ten-week session is $150, due at the time of registration. Please call the Prep Program Office at 480-965-1702 to inquire about registration.

The School of Music Building is located on the main ASU campus in Tempe on the northeast corner of Mill Avenue and Gammage Parkway.
