Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 4, 5, 9, 11, 12 and 13, with a 2:30 p.m. matinee on Oct. 6. The venue is the Evelyn Smith Music Theatre in the Music Building on the main ASU campus in Tempe, 40 E. Gammage Parkway.

Tickets are $14 general, $12 faculty/staff/seniors and $5 students. They are on sale at the Herberger College Box Office, 480-965-6447.

The musical is based on the comic strip, Peanuts, which began delighting audiences in 1967 with its vignettes of Charles M. Schultz’s timeless characters. Book, music and lyrics are by Clark M. Gesner. The tone is light hearted, with characters breaking into song over “My Blanket and me,” “The Book Report,” “Glee Club Rehearsal” and “Suppertime.”

The musical is directed by Dale Dreyfoos, professor of opera/music theater and resident stage director for Lyric Opera Theatre at ASU. He previously directed an LOT production of You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown several seasons ago, as well as productions of Cosi Fan Tutte, Die Fledermaus, HMS Pinafore and The Secret Garden.
