Next up in the School of Theatre and Film’s New Works Series is a staged reading of Dreaming Darwin. The play is a fantasy about British naturalist Charles Darwin. Audience members can see the work in its early form, while a fuller, workshop production of Dreaming Darwin is planned for the 2010–11 School of Theatre and Film MainStage season.

"The year 2009 marked the 200th anniversary of the birth of Darwin as well as the 150th anniversary of the publication of On the Origin of Species, arguably one of the most influential books of the 19th century,” says director Lance Gharavi, associate professor in the ASU Herberger Institute School of Theatre and Film. "What you will see in 'Dreaming Darwin' is a single moment in an evolutionary process of collective creationism."
