Who
The ASU School of Art in the Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts presents the group photographic exhibition, ELSEWHERE.

What
The ASU School of Art presents ELSEWHERE, a group photographic exhibition from Nov. 2–27, at the Northlight Gallery on the ASU Tempe campus. The exhibition features work by members of the ASU Photographers’ Association, and is juried by Robert and Shana ParkeHarrison, Guggenheim and Nancy Graves Foundation Fellows. A public reception also is scheduled Nov. 2 from 6–8:30 p.m. in the Northlight Gallery.

The ParkeHarrisons selected exhibition photographs partially on their technical craftsmanship and competency, but primarily on the principle of creating a coherent exhibition out of a wide and extremely diverse range of photography. In many ways, the exhibition embodies the themes and emotions present in the ParkeHarrisons' own work, which achieves great impact by being quiet and distant, though extremely caring. The imagery the couple selected also reflects their the unique taste, while keeping the individual style of each photographer intact. The ParkeHarrisons were chosen to jury the show based on the merit of their work as well as their unique visual aesthetic. Works selected for ELSEWHERE are by students who are in the ASU Photographers’ Association. Every fall semester, the association organizes a juried exhibition and invites a respected photographer or photo scholar to be the juror and guest lecturer. To support the event, the association hosts a silent-auction fundraiser each spring. Both the fall lecture and spring auction are free and open to the public. Membership association is open to ASU undergraduate and graduate photography-major students.
